There are so many ways that you can support my life saving work from wherever you are, and it’s never been easier! Whether you’re attending our yearly Dog Show in Barnsley, organising a community bake sale or taking on one of our new digital exercise challenges you have the chance to make a difference to the lives of thousands of dogs, and have a blast at the same time! Hell, you can even throw yourself out of a plane to raise money (if you’re insane!)
Whatever you choose to do, you will receive plenty of help and support at every step of the journey from the team, and with every euro raised you’ll be saving the lives of innocent dogs rescued from neglect and abuse, giving them the second chance they deserve.

Every year for the last 5 years we have held our annual event “Dog Fest” in Barnsley to help raise money for the shelter. It’s an incredible fun day out for the whole family, with a dog show, stalls and merchandise and even a doggie photographer!
There’s plenty for everyone (including wine, and even prizes to be won!) and we’re so grateful for such wonderful community support that grows every year.Keep an eye on our socials closer to the time, or email at petpalsgc@gmail.com for more information!
Take on “The Summer Stroll - 50km in July!
Our Summer version of “The Winter Walk” is now here, and the first year was a huge success! In July 2025 we had over 30 people and their doggies who stepped out in their Summer Stroll t-shirts and raised over 5000 together. It’s simple, you challenge yourself to complete 50km over the month of July at the same time as raising much needed donations for the rescue. And of course, have a lot of fun and take some adorable pictures along the way!

Take on “The Winter Walk - 25km to New Years Eve”
Fancy a more relaxed version of our summer challenge with a wintery setting? Sign up for The Winter Walk, our challenge to take on 25km in the 2 weeks leading up to New Years Eve. It’s a great time of year to get some fundraising going, at the same time as enjoying all the beautiful moments that the festive season has to offer! (Stop off’s for mince pies and mulled wine is encouraged!)

Create a Birthday Fundraiser!
Why not use your special day as a platform to help dogs in need? Create Pet Pals GC fundraisers, tell your family and friends to chuck in the price of a glass of wine or a coffee and let everyone know why Petpals GC is so important to you! (hot take, you can also make one for your Pet Pals GC’s dogs birthdays too ;)

As many of you will know I have been writing my autobiography “From Rags to Rescue” and it went on sale in summer 2025. With over 300 copies bought so far, it shares my life story of how I went from the care system to managing a rescue in Gran Canaria. Every purchase of the book the profits go to support the rescue, so it’s an amazing way to support at the same time as learning about the history of Pet Pals GC!

Get Creative fundraising your own way!
Do you fancy jumping out of plane? Or setting up your own second hand clothes sale? Perhaps you want to do a sponsored silence or a dog food drive? There are endless ways that you can come up with your very own fundraising event to support Pet Pals GC, and all of the doggies are so grateful for whatever weird and wonderful way you chose to do it!
